PREVENTIVE TREATMENT OF NEW POND FISH
Treat new fish with the following preventive medicines to ensure healthy transition to your pond.
You must know your pond gallons within 10% to be successful. If you are unsure, refer to our pond gallon calculator.
Be certain your pond chemistry is good. Ammonia 0 ppm
Nitrite 0 ppm
Nitrate less than 100 ppm
PH between 7.0 and 8.2
Oxygen above 7 ppm
Do Not Medicate if water temperature is below 55 degrees.
If your water temperature is below 55 degrees you may use rock salt at 4 pounds per 100 gals.
DO NOT USE Rock Salt with aquatic plants or excessive algae. See our article for proper use of Rock Salt.
Medications you will need for the first 10 days: ProForm-C*and FlukeM**.
If your pond is less than 2 months established do not use the ProForm-C in the pond.
*USE NOX-ICH IF YOU ARE NOT SURE OF YOUR POND GALLONS OR YOUR POND IS LESS THAN 2 MONTHS OLD. ONLY USE PROFORM-C IF YOU ARE SURE OF POND GALLONS.
First 10 Day Treatment:
DAY 1: Treat pond with proper dose of both Nox-Ich OR ProForm-C and FlukeM.
DAY 4: Treat pond with proper dose of Nox-Ich OR ProForm-C only.
DAY 7: Treat pond with proper dose of both Nox-Ich OR ProForm-C and FlukeM.
DAY 10: IF your fish look good, continue with Nox-Ich OR ProForm-C only for one last dose.
This completes the 10 day treatment.
This program will control Ich, Flukes, Chilodinella and Fungus.
This 10 day treatment does not treat Trichodina, Costia or Viruses.
**FlukeM is a powder and does not mix well with water. You can mix the FlukeM together with the Proform-C in a jar and equal portion of water and shake to dissolve for 30 seconds.
